Mick Liston Duck Award

The Mick Liston Duck award was introduced to the club in the 2004/5 season and recognises the batsman from our club that consistently failed to trouble the scorers. Mick Liston managed to notch up a club record 6 ducks in a row, and the award was inaugurated to encourage others to emulate his batting success.

The Mick Liston award is a talking point up at the clubrooms on Saturday night, and as such is the biggest trophy awarded on Presentation Night.
To date, the Mick Liston award has proved to be one thing that the 5th XI takes great pride in representing.

This season promises to be as hard fought as last year, with some bunnies players already standing up to be counted.

Next time you are purchasing a refreshment from the bar up at the clubrooms, I encourage you to cast your eye to the top of the fridge, where this prestigious award sits holding pride of place.

Below is the 2008/9 tally to date for the players trying to secure batting immortality at the Ballarat-Redan Cricket Club.
